There are many reasons for studying taekwondo so we have developed classes and programs that help students to attain their individual goals.
The Tigers class was developed specifically for preschool age children ages 4 through 6. This class offers children a strong foundation in essential character qualities such as courtesy, respect, and discipline. In addition, the program is designed to improve children's motor skills and enhance their ability to pay attention and follow directions. All classes are taught using the most safe, fun, and exciting instruction methods available for this age group.
The Karate for Kids class is for children people ages 7 through 13. The Karate for Kids system is based on a lifetime learning concept in addition to technical skills. We feel so positive about this program that we promise to give your children the most professional, well supervised and the highest quality classes available in any sport or art. Our instructors take their responsibility seriously as role models for younger students, teaching them the importance of strong character, leadership and good values.
Our adult and teen students acquire a strong foundation in the basics to enhance their physical capabilities and maximize their self-defense skills. Our students learn exactly what it takes, mentally and physically, to defend themelves or their loved ones should the need ever arise. At ATA Martial Arts, we are not interested in just teaching self-defense, we are interested in the complete personal development of each student.
The Basic Program is an economical introductory program that allows new students to try a martial arts program before committing to the full curriculum. Students learn the basic movements and parts of forms to see how they will adapt. Up to three belt rank promotions can be earned before a commitment is made to the Black Belt Club.
The Black Belt Club program is open to all students of any rank or age. It represents the highest level of our "Success through Goal Setting" philosophy. Black Belt Club members are those individuals whose goal is to become a Black Belt. Students must know exactly what their goals are in order to accomplish them with determination and enthusiasm. Students wear a Black Belt Club patch on the left sleeve of the uniform to remind them of their goals every time they put on their uniform.
The Leadership Program is open to all students of any rank or age. It represents the highest level of our "Success through Goal Setting" philosophy. Leadership Program members are those individuals whose goal is to become a champion competitor. Students must know exactly what their goals are in order to accomplish them with determination and enthusiasm. Students wear a Leadership Program uniform to remind them of their goals.
Outstanding students are invited to join the Legacy Program. The goal of this program is to train future leaders. Not just leaders in Taekwondo, but at school, at home and in the community. Aside from our physical training, we focus on developing communication skills, decision-making skills, active problem solving, and speaking in front of a group. ATA instructors are more than "karate teachers." We are actively making a positive impact on our community, "one black belt at a time."
Students in our Leadership Program are taking traditional Taekwondo to the the extreme: ATA Xtreme. ATA Xtreme is an elite level of training that blends many martial art styles together with high-flying acrobatics and fast action! The goal of ATA Xtreme is to use the skills our students have developed and challenge them to become better than they thought possible.
